KinLink ("KinLink," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the KinLink mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). Please read this policy carefully. If you disagree with its terms, please discontinue use of the Service.
KinLink is not directed to children under 13 years old, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Guardian accounts are intended for adults (18 or older) who manage the pairing process. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without appropriate consent, contact us immediately at support@kinlinkapp.com and we will delete that information.
Teenagers ages 13 and older may use KinLink as Dependents under the direct supervision of a Guardian (parent or legal guardian). A Dependent account requires active pairing initiated and approved by a Guardian. Guardians are responsible for ensuring their use of KinLink with minor Dependents complies with applicable law, including any state-specific laws governing minor monitoring.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or third parties for advertising. We share your information only as follows:
We retain your account data and location history for as long as your account is active. Activity logs (check-ins, geo-fence events) are retained for 90 days by default. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@kinlinkapp.com. Upon verified account deletion requests, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
Location is the core data type used by KinLink. For Dependent users, KinLink requests "Always On" location permission to enable background geo-fence monitoring. You may revoke this permission in your device settings at any time; however, doing so will disable geo-fence alerts and Places Mesh functionality.
Location data is transmitted using TLS encryption and stored in encrypted form. Access to raw location data is restricted to authorized systems and personnel. We do not share precise location data with advertising networks or data brokers.
California residents have the right to: (a) know what personal information we collect and how it is used; (b) request deletion of their personal information; (c) request correction of inaccurate personal information; (d) opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell personal information); and (e) non-discrimination for exercising these rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@kinlinkapp.com.
Regardless of location, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us. We will respond to verified requests within 30 days.
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encrypted storage, access controls, and periodic security reviews. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
The Service integrates with third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you by email or prominent in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
